Broken clock? Off his meds? Hell freezing over?
We may need to find a new expression of shock for what transpired on MSNBC last night.
The die hard Democrat commentator Ed Schultz didnt just go off script from his party and networks iron-clad support for amnesty for illegal aliens. He tore the script up and set it on fire lambasting Barack Obama for his rumored plans to grant an executive order amnesty and work permits to a reported 5 million illegal aliens, calling it a mistake that could cost his party dearly.
Schultz said amnesty would be the political death knell for Democrats in the midterm elections.
Is this the start of a major backlash against amnesty across the political spectrum?
Among Schultzs comments:
Hold the phone this would be a mistake if the president were to do this, he said on Tuesday. Politically, there is no way Democrats can go home and campaign on across-the-board amnesty for millions of undocumented workers I dont think thats a political winner for the Democrats.
I dont think any country just hands out work permits to solve an immigration problem, Schultz continued. I think this would be a ground-sweeping move by the president to do that, and I think a lot of Democrats would have a hard time with it.
It would be a real tough sell to independents, he lamented. Schultz also said an amnesty executive order would force competition between American workers who are abiding by the laws.
I mean lets face it, Schultz said, people who are here in this country are here for a number of different reasons, but they are lawbreakers. And to just give them permits for working, creates a greater problem.
